The B-Team is heading out to Miami for the weekend. We'll be riding bikes, raising hell, and coming back with warrants and all of it will be on film. All you bitches is jealous.

The New York trip was much more than I could have ever imagined.
Looking back a month later, I keep thinking about everything that happened. The bike riding. The people I traveled with. The people that housed us along the way. The movie I made about the trip. From the crazy drive up the east coast, editing the movie along the way to losing all that work while in New York and having to start over from scratch (luckily I still had the raw footage on tape). The serene drive back to Florida through the Blue Ridge parkway.

I’m in the process of setting up local distribution and I’ll have some copies on sale here on the website too.

Going to Miami next week for Memorial Day. We’re taking our bikes and we’re going to get into a whole hell of a lot of trouble, and then film it all.

Here is a teaser clip for everyone to check out. I also have a trailer on myspace!

We're in New York. Carlos has registered for the bike ride and we're just spending the day relaxing. Lunch was great and we're supposed to be on our way to an even better supper this evening.
We've moved the bikes inside Jess' small apartment. We've somehow fit 6 bikes, 3 people and all our luggage into a living space not all that bigger than the van we drove up in.
I've finished the first two days of editing on the film and I hope to have a trailer online tonight.

Now fuck off and go outside. It's a beautiful day.

Where the hell have you been?? I've been working my ass off. Things are going well, I'm nearly half way through Midwestern Bailey now. I've been working on movies too. Look out for a couple of scripts and even some short films very soon!

Leaving Orlando for NYC. We'll be on the road for a whole week. The biggest part of the trip will be in New York where we'll ride the five borros bike ride. About 30,000 or so people will join us there. We plan on stopping in Savanah, Piska Nat'l Forest, West Virginia and Washington, D.C. to terrorize the locals with our bikes.
It's my friends Carlos and Sensitive Jim along for the ride. We'll be filming and having a good old time. If you are in the area we'll be posting updates online and you can drop a message on the message board to say hello. We'll be in Savanah by supper.

I've been busy the last month filming the feature length version of Downtown Pride. Things are going more than well. I've gotten some great stuff on film, I've had some crazy experiences and way to many nights seeing the sun rise.
There's also a lot of momentum building up on the business side of things. There will be a screening at Will's Pub tonight. So if you are in the area come on down to Will's at 8:30pm, it's a $3 donation at the door.

So what big news do they keep talking about on this website? What is going on already? I've been hard at work on a number of prrojects. Perhaps the most prevelant and important one so far has been a documentary called Downtown Pride: The Story of Bike Taxis in Orlando, FL. I've already finished one half hour short film and there is a trailer available for viewing. You will be able to watch the half hour short at select locations very soon and a full lenght will be available this winter. Keep checking back for more news and also keep an eye on http://www.downtownpride.com for more info. Thank you for visiting and have a happy Holloween!!

What? I'm from the streets! From the Jefferson Streets, bitch!
I recently played at the Peacock Room. It's probably the cleanest place I've ever seen, it was rediculous, I think they have their own carpet steamer?. More shows coming.
I've decided to record a few songs and such with my friend E.R. Jess. We've been working mostly on drunken weekends and so far the results have been pretty fun and promising.
I've also been recording studio versions of my live set, and there will be some shirts and stickers coming very soon.
Check back often for info on some big **b**sh*ng news!

What's happening?
I recently went to the midwest. My cousin Dawn marrried her long time boyfriend, George. I wish I'd had more time to visit. George is a great guy and I'm sure they'll have many happy years together.

More shows coming in the near future stay tuned...

I peformed at Will's Pub, I! had a lot of fun and people were very receptive to what is the fairly unorthodox show I have. Thank you to everyone who came out to see the show and t!o anyone who came out and stuck around to hear what I do.
All the bands that played the show were great, especially the guys in Slow Dance Kings, I hadn't seen them play or met any of them before but they wer!e cool guys and a cool band. Mecca and her Rusty Tears were great too. I even got a call from the Meccanism herself the next day at work telling me how much she liked the set, that was pretty cool, I'm sure we'll play a show together again soon.
If anyone has pictures let me know, I'd like to post the!m in the photolog.
Stay posted for upcoming shows and check out the message board!

My Parents' visit was a blast. I took them to swim in the ocean, they had never seen it before. I have some photos in my photo log which can now be accessed by several links through out the site and also by the little icon in the top right corner. We also went to Sea World and Universal Studios.
I have a friend from Minneapolis coming to see me at the end of June, I'm really excited about her trip down. I've taken a week off work.
I still work at the bike shop, I recently got a raise and a desk! I've only been there a little over a year.
A very old friend from Iowa contacted me recently and he is in a band with several other old friends from Iowa called September. Check out their website at http://www.septemberweb.com
Ironically I'm planning a trip to Iowa in September. I'm thinking about taking my bike and getting some riding in. As well as visit some old friends. Nate E where are you? Drop me an email at darren@straycatpublishing.com
I'm still working on scripts for some people. Who knows if anything is going to come from any of it.
I should have a hard cover edition of some short stories and poems out soon, perhaps only another couple of months, I don't know the label it'll be out on yet, but the paperwork is almost done. It will be called The Prose of Entrapment.
I also got an email recently from someone in Colorado that has a copy of Start. It was interesting to hear from them as I didn't personally know them, and I knew almost everyone who got the book. If anyone else has a copy let me know.
darren@straycatpublishing.com
It appears the column for makeoutclub.com is on hiatus. Not sure when it's coming back. I did get a few emails but I've gotten so many other projects on the table since MOC shut down for that while. I'm not so sure I have time to continue with it.
Take a look at http://www.drunkenghosthunting.com it's a new project I'm involved with. Funny and exciting.
Currently I'm still working on Rendition of Nirvana, it is the novel that I began writing shortly after finishing Start. A lot of people ask me if I will ever release Start again, right now the answer is no. Although I published a successful short run I think that it is done. It was never a book to sell, or to reach people with, there for I don't see much need for it to be published. If you've read it and enjoyed it, or hated it, I'd like to hear from you Darren@straycatpublishing.com. There were so few copies published it's always interesting to see where it has popped up.
If you have a copy of it now and you've read it, please pass it on to someone else; keep the chain going.
I've also been riding my bike a lot, recently I placed second in a mountain bike freeride contest, and I've been riding with a group of people where I work and live.
Check out Red Trail Racing.com for info on upcoming events.
